A high quality microphone essential for your Sony Multi-Interface device. This microphone works on a wide range of Sony camera/Handycam models supporting the Multi-Interface shoe. This will not work on Active Shoe Interface devices, and there are no adapters for converting the Multi-Interface devices to fit Active Shoe devices, as Sony is streamlining and standardizing their devices to use the Multi Interface from here on out.

Bad Mic or bad unit? UPDATE: Bad camera firmware I just picked up this microphone from the Sony showroom and was excited to get it onto my NEX-6. However when I played the videos back I noticed a constant hissing noise in the background. It’s not extreme, but noticeable enough to drown out fine details. Works on any camera with a hot shoe and a powered mic plug Sony and some re-sellers will tell you that this mic only works on Sony cameras and camcorders, but that’s not true. I bought it for my Nikon D7100 and it works all right on it. It takes a little more effort than a normal flash to slide into the hot shoe, so it will fit really tight, just be careful not to apply too much force and only push on its base as the whole contraption is made of plastic.
