Makes me Happy 🙂 I bought this lens to replace my kit lens. I had accumulated variety of lenses. I did not think I would really need the original kit lens, so I gave it away. I found that the range on that kit lens was desirable for many shooting situations plus it was short and compact (hmm Quandary). The old kit lens was not a good close focus lens. little plastic gem from nikon. For the price point, this is little light weight plastic gem for DX camera. The VRII is good. I took one picture and loaded here without any correction. Of course my 24mm (F/1.4) does better (second picture, taken with same specifications) but these two lenses are quite different and we can’t really compare. So, again, at this price point – we can’t go wrong with this lens.
