This camera is equipped with a DIGIC 4 image processor for faster image processing and noise reduction in images taken in high ISO rating. With an optical zoom as high as 16x along with 32x zoom plus, the finer details of the subjects and objects can be easily identified in the image. The lens of this Point and Shoot camera has a focal length ranging from 5 mm (wide) to 80 mm (telephoto), and its 35 mm equivalent ranging from 28 mm (wide) to 448 mm (telephoto).
The Iris type aperture of this camera has an f-number of f/3.5 to f/8.0 for wide mode photography and f/5.9 to f/8.0 for Telephoto mode photography. There is an ISO sensitivity from 100 – 1600 (in P mode) in this camera with one step increments for capturing a well exposed image. The built-in flash of the camera has a range of 50 cm to 3 m, when the device is set to operate in the wide mode and 60 cm to 2 m in the telephoto mode.
There is an LCD monitor for displaying images and videos with a maximum display resolution of 230,000 dots. The 3-inch wide monitor provides a fairly wide view of the images to be clicked. It also supports iFrame movie recording, a format compatible with Apple devices. Powered by two AA type Alkaline batteries, this device can click approximately 140 shots on a single charge.
This Canon Point and Shoot camera features an Intelligent Image Stabiliser (IS) that can analyse the motion of the camera as well as the subject, thereby eliminating any form of noise from creeping into the images. The IS can also identify the type of shot like macro, telephoto or panning. Real time differences, based on the adjustments made in exposure compensation, contrast, white balance and sharpness can be viewed with LIVE View Control for capturing a good-quality picture.
