Great everyday Camera! I’ve been into photography for almost 25 years and have more cameras then I care to admit to. I use a Nikon D5100 and a Canon SX40HS as my higher end cameras but wanted something to just throw around and carry in my messenger bag for daily events. I love it! I bought this camera after somehow breaking my old one (oops). I’ve had it for almost a week now, and I’ve got to say that it’s almost perfect for the casual photographer. I absolutely love the image quality, the various image modes, and the video quality.

Here is what would move me to pick up a G12: Improved IQ (specifically Dynamic Range which was a BIG problem on the eaierlr models) GPS (this will be a road camera, so GPS would be sweet) 1080p video Fast lens (say f2 or f2.8) with 6x zoom Keep the swivel screen and ability to add a tube to hold a circular polarizer Keep RAW and manual controlsSign me up .
