Counterfeit? San Disk has never failed like this I have used many proper SD brands. I even worked at sandisk for a while. But I tried 2 of the 10 and both failed to take an image.dd bs=1m if=/dev/rdisk of=backup.imgdd bs=1m if=backup.img of=/dev/rdiskThis is the proper way to make copies of SDs. The documented way to do so for Raspberry Pi on OSx and Linux.Tried writing the backup.img to 2 of the 10 – both fail. The Raspberry Pi boot fails reading the device. Works on other SD cards.I am not sure…

Confirmed authentic SanDisk and not counterfeit Upon receiving my cards in the mail, I was at first suspicious that they may not be authentic SanDisk brand. There are a number of websites, youtube videos, etc dedicated to determining if a card is authentic or a counterfeit knockoff. Apparently, one of the things to look for is a sort of raised relief on the back side of the card, with some printed serial numbers on it. These cards do NOT have this feature, which is one of the things that led to me to believe they were counterfeit…
